OMG it's a world gone mad! Cats and dogs living together! Mass hysteria! And yet the weekend announcement is still late?

I understand that, Hawk. Truly, I do. However, people leave themselves to wild speculation even when they do tell us. There will always be the double-edged sword in a community as large as this.
And while you say it's better to tell us, which again I do understand the point of view because there is part of me that would like to know, I just happen to be on the other side of the fence moreso where I believe it's best the public doesn't know for the security and integrity of the game. People who look to cause harm seek out any bit of information as leads. As stated before, give the Dogs a bone to chase and they'll start looking for bigger ones to snag. Tell the public you fixed a dupe exploit that involved disconnections, the Wolves take that and look for new methods based on similar actions.
I feel much more secure (even with my virus scanners and firewalls) that those with intent to cause malice, who look for details on what has been/could continue to be exploited, don't have that information to go on, at the tiny sacrifice of my personal gratification.
If Anet, tomorrow, decides they wish to give out more detailed info, so be it. I hope they don't, especially if it was a very serious exploit. I'd hate for any reasons to be given for more people to learn about what such serious exploit it was and try to copy it. I can't, however, make that call. It is my hope that not giving that info out becomes the norm.
